SADAOUI Insurance Services - Bagdad Average Agency |
After the embargo against Iraq had been slackened, and in connection with the "Food for Oil" agreement, several underwriters ordered the Average Agency Zafer Sadaoui in Syria to effect surveys and discharge supervisions, especially for consignments of rice and sugar in the port of Umm Qaser / Iraq.
Since the re-opening of the Syrian-Iraqi frontier, and
the possibility for Syrians to enter Iraq without any problems Mr. Zafer Sadaoui
opened an officially licensed branch of the Average Agency Zafer Sadaoui, Syria,
in Baghdad, namely Sadaoui Insurance Services.
Early in 2001 a surveyor's post in Basra was founded too.
Thus, in Iraq, too, services based on the same know-how as in Syria are provided to all underwriters. Particularly since the opening of the previously mentioned 2 offices in Iraq, time and travel expenses can be saved.
When choosing collaborators, care is taken, that they not merely have the necessary qualifications, but are also well connected, so that they can enter Iraqi harbours without any problems and receive the necessary claim documents from public authorities, as most of the importers are public enterprises.
As currently, telecommunication facilities in Iraq are
not yet functioning sufficiently, it would be recommendable to place any larger
orders by phone, fax and e-mail connections to the Average Agency Zafer Sadaoui
in Aleppo / Syria. Thus, these orders will be transmitted to Iraq and fulfilled
without any delay.
